Obituary

Ronald Anthony Freeman, fondly known as Ronnie, by his family and friends, left this earthly life for his Heavenly reward on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 62. The son of Betty Jean Marcotte and Newton Theodore Freeman, Ronnie was born on October 4, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ronnie grew up attending Catholic schools and in 1979 he graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School where he was active in football.

Ronnie began a career working in telecommunications with AT&T and worked his way up through the ranks retiring as the 911 coordinator for the region.

Ronnie was married to the late Josie (Bremerman) Freeman and had three beautiful children. Ronnie then met and fell in love with Karrie Lynn Peak, they were married on June 8, 2001 and Ronnie gained two more daughters and the family grew. Together they shared more than 22 wonderful years as a family.

Ronnie dedicated his life to being a loving husband, devoted father and doting Grumpy. His family was the most important thing in his life.

Ronnie was known for his loyal and strong spirit. He had many friends and never met a stranger. He could find something in common with anyone he met and genuinely enjoyed people. He was a fierce protector and always made the people in his life feel safe, earning the nickname "Sheriff Ronnie". Ronnie was an avid traveler and a generous host father to multiple foreign exchange students over the years. He was always dedicated to creating spaces for lasting memories for his loved ones.

There was absolutely nothing Ronnie could not do. Ronnie could fix anything and would be there immediately when a loved one had a need. He had many skills and if he didn't know how to do something, he would figure it out.

He was also blessed with a sense of humor. Ronnie had the best dad jokes and was not afraid to use them. Ronnie was a truly enjoyable person to be around. He was a good listener with a curious mind and was always seeking to learn new things.

He was very generous, thoughtful and kind to others. Ronnie was always giving of his talents, time, and gifts. He always made certain everyone felt loved, cherished and supported. He will be deeply missed but will continue to live on in our hearts.
