IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosa Maria
Chavez
April 6, 1942 – October 8, 2025
Rosa Maria Chavez, age 83, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1942, in Tlahualilo, Durango, Mexico. Throughout her life, Rosa made homes filled with love and warmth in Chihuahua, Mexico, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Guthrie, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Rosa was a woman whose faith guided every step she took. She was devoted to her church and joyfully dedicated her time to serving others—especially through her work supporting the missionary project Flor Azul. Her greatest joy came from bringing her family together, often around a table filled with her delicious cooking. With her beautiful smile, strong faith, and caring heart, she taught everyone who knew her what it meant to love deeply and to seek the Lord.
Rosa had a special way of showing her care—she might lovingly "get onto you," but everyone knew that meant she cared. Her love was steady, her laughter contagious, and her presence a blessing to all.
She was preceded in death by her beloved children, Teresita, Sergio I, Ruben, and Raul. Rosa leaves behind a legacy of faith and family through her husband Jesse M Chavez, her children Lucy, Mary, Angela, Irma, Norma, Elias, Sergio II, Ruth, Jesse, 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren—each one a testament to the love she poured into her family.
