Reverend Roy Lee Phillips was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on December 19, 2010 at the age of 88. He was born June 19, 1922 in Marlow, Oklahoma to his parents, William Henry and Effie Mae (Qualls) Phillips. During World War II, Roy bravely served his country in the United States Army and also joined the 3rd Air Force in October 1942 and was honorably discharged from the 399th Infantry in February 1946. He married the love of his life and faithful companion, Cleta Bell Curtis. This union of marriage was blessed with 2 children, Bill and Sherry. For 17 years, Roy worked as an engineer for Amour & Company Meat Processing before he answered the Lord's calling to pastor churches full time. Together, Roy and Cleta pastored congregations in Wheatland, OK, Duncan, OK, Welty, OK and Arkansas City, Kansas before retiring in 1994. At that time, Roy and Cleta began worshipping at Shartel Church of God. Roy was a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather, who served the Lord and others with all of his heart. He embraced the Lord's calling on his life and helped others to do the same. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives that he touched. Although we will miss his presence on earth, we rejoice in knowing he is home with his Heavenly Father.

Son, Rev. Bill Phillps and wife, Jenny;
Daughter, Sherry Werner and husband, Russell;
4 Grandchildren: Tonya Werner, Angeleta Rodrigues, Jaime Phillips & Robin Phillips;
9 Great Grandchildren.
