IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy Lendon
Woodard
October 29, 1941 – December 8, 2025
Roy Lendon Woodard, 84, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 29, 1941, in Duncan, Oklahoma, Roy lived a full and generous life marked by hard work and devotion to those he held dear.
Roy was a well-respected homebuilder in the Oklahoma City metro area for over three decades. His craftsmanship and commitment left a lasting mark on countless homes and families. He never shied away from hard work, as seen by his service as an Army veteran and the many years he worked through retirement at Yellow Freight. When he was not working, Roy could be found on one of his favorite golf courses or at a sporting event for one of his grandchildren. His work and family were what he valued most.
Roy was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Carolyn Woodard; his parents, Roy Lee Woodard and Laura Lavada Tramell; his brother, Otis "Woody" Woodard; and his sisters Ladonna Chasteen, Velda Towell, Eudora Dixon, and Aletha McGuire.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Carl Woodard; his three children: Stevi and Jay Craig of Norman, OK, Marc and Brenda Woodard of Newcastle, OK, and Angie and Ben Spears of Celina, Texas. Roy was deeply proud of his seven grandchildren and their spouses: Bo and Megan Woodard of Newcastle, OK, Blake and Brianna Woodard of Moore, OK, Chloe and Jackson Pesch of Norman, OK, Cade Summers and Zoe Shaw of San Marcos, TX, Annie Cate Summers of Norman, OK, Joey Craig of Norman, OK, and Phoebe Spears of Celina, TX; and his six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amada Senior Care and Elara Hospice for their dedicated care to Roy.
