IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy Taylor
Yokley
May 3, 1941 – August 22, 2023
Roy Taylor Yokley was born to Florence and Howard Yokley on May 3, 1941. He grew
up in Midwest City, Oklahoma and graduated from Del City High School. He met and
married the love of his life, Erma Lee Shelton in 1958 and they were married for 65
years. That union produced two sons, Roy Lee Yokley and Steve Yokley.
Roy started out in life working in home and commercial construction, then along with his
twin brother Troy, they entered into the refuse industry. Roy and Troy put together
American Disposal and Southeast Landfill. Over the next 15 years, the companies were
sold to Laidlaw Industries. From there, they built several more companies throughout the
years. The final businesses included American Waste and several landfills. These
endeavors throughout the years allowed them to retire from the family business.
Roy leaves behind his loving family, wife, Erma Yokley, two sons, Roy Lee Yokley and
Steve Yokley (Kari), three grandsons, Curtis Yokley (Lisa), Robbie Yokley (Brandy) and
Justin Mullinax (Paige) as well as seven great grandchildren. Roy is also survived by
three brothers, Howard Yokley (Pat), twin brother Troy Yokley (Carolyn), Bob Yokley
(Linda) and one sister, Susan Cochran (Kenneth). Roy was preceded in death by his
father, Howard Yokley, mother, Florence Yokley, his brother, Larry Yokley and lifelong
