Obituary

Ruble joined his heavenly father on Oct. 9, 2021 surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City he was born April 25, 1938 to Luther Ruble & Jeanette (Higdon) Garner. Ruble attended Del City High School where he was an outstanding athlete lettering in basketball, and was a charter member of the "D" Club. He graduated in 1957. On May 16, 1958 Ruble married the love of his life Myrna Randell in El Reno, Oklahoma. After transferring from Tinker, Ruble began working for the FAA in 1959 and retired in 1993 as an Information Technology Manager. Following this he worked as a private contractor for the FAA, consulting and applying his knowledge until the year of 2000. Among his other endeavors he and Myrna owned & operated the Gloryland Christian Bookstore in Mustang, Oklahoma for 7 years until selling in 1993.
A faithful & steadfast follower of Christ, he was an active member of Capitol Hill Assembly of God (CHA) since 1967, serving in numerous capacities at his church. Ruble served on the church board at various times for almost 40 years. In Sunday school ministries, he and Myrna served together teaching and helped build a thriving bus ministry in the 70's. After retirement, he and Myrna travel extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad. They traveled to Africa, Ukraine, Uruguay and Mexico, assisting missionaries in building and improving church and school facilities.
Ruble never lost his competitive spirit. While an avid golfer, his first love was basketball. He continued for many years to play basketball, volleyball and softball on teams associated with CHA and the FAA. He coordinated the Christian Athletic Association (CAA) which brought together numerous local churches in basketball and volleyball competitive leagues.
Ruble was preceded in death by his parents Luther Ruble & Jeanette (Higdon) Garner & one sister Sondra Anderson.
He is survived by his wife Myrna.
Three children; Cindy Palmer & her husband Randy, Steve Garner & his wife Tricia, and Gina Boyland & her husband Jeff.
Six grandchildren; Kyle Palmer & Alex Brodt, Kody Palmer & his wife Crystal Palmer, Kory Palmer & Kassie Bell & her daughter Emslee, Mariah Levendusky & her husband Troy, Bryce Boyland, and Taryn Boyland.
One great granddaughter Olivia Levendusky.
His sister Beverly Fuller & her husband Roy.
He will always be remembered as loving his family, friends and his Lord; traveling to Branson and having a good time.
