Ruth McClurg, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 in Oklahoma City after a brief illness.

Ruth was born September 9, 1936 in Enid to Roy and Cora Routh. Ruth's family later moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1954. After high school Ruth began working at Standard Life Insurance Company, where she met her future husband, Truett Womack. They were blessed with two children Erick and Valerie. in 1975, Ruth remarried William (Bill) McClurg until his passing in 2001. Ruth worked many years as a bookkeeper for a CPA firm in Oklahoma City then went into semi-retirement in the early 80's and continued to do bookkeeping for family and friends.

Ruth loved spending time with her grandchildren and made some of her favorite memories with them. Ruth also enjoyed spending time fishing and boating at lake Eufaula with her family and taking trips to Las Vegas with her husband Bill. The casino was a favorite spot for Ruth in her later years and although she never reported her losses, her winnings were always a topic of conversation. Ruth also loved collecting Hummels and had quite the collection at her home.

Ruth was always there for her family and friends. She would drop everything to help when and where she was needed. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) McClurg, parents, Roy and Cora Routh, Brothers, Roy, Lloyd, Floyd, Floisel and Homer, Sisters, Corinne and Roberta (Bobbie), and granddaughter, Danielle Della Vecchio.

Survivors include Son, Erick Womack and wife, Laura Womack, and their children, Landon Womack and wife Brittney Womack, and Ethan Womack

Daughter, Valerie Della Vecchio and her husband, Rudy Della Vecchio, and their children, Carly Myers and husband Jeremy Myers, and Alisha Della Vecchio

Ruth is also survived by numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Sommerset Assited Living and Frontier Hospice for taking exceptional care of her during the last months of her life.

Viewing will be held 4-8 PM Friday, September 8, 2023 at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes (4000 SW 119th St). Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Resthaven Memory Gardens (500 SW 104th St).
