Ruth, 100, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was born to Walter and Hattie (Bagley) Ashbrook on October 28, 1919 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Ruth grew up in Lindsay and later family moved to Oklahoma City where she met the love of her life Roy Edgar Stephens. They got married on March 3, 1940 and enjoyed many years of happiness together until his passing in 2008. Ruth loved to do arts and crafts, cake decorating, and sewing. She also liked to drive around the city and relax her mind. She was an avid OU Sooners football fan and later in her life she enjoyed watching CNN news. Ruth enjoyed many things in life but there was no bigger happiness for her than spending time with her family. She will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her: Parents; Husband, Roy Edgar Stephens; 5 brothers. She is survived by her: Daughter, Emma Brakebill and her husband Larry; Grandchild, Jeffrey Brakebill; 3 Sisters, Norma Appleby, Deloris Harris, and Rosie Davis. As well as numerous amounts of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. Special thanks to Dr. Kersey Winfree who was such a blessing and instrumental to her care and well-being.
