Ruth "Diane" Thomas, age 73, was born in Oklahoma City December 7, 1951 to her parents Ralph & Yoland Jackson. She was surrounded by her family when she passed on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Diane "DeeDee" grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma and graduated from Midwest City High in 1970. As a young lady, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout and TriHiY Girls society. During high school she was an officer in the Pep Club, member of the journalism committee, and performed in plays. After graduation, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in business. On June 23, 1972 she married Tommy Thomas, and the two established their family in Norman, before moving to Oklahoma City. The two were blessed with two sons, Hogan and Grant. She was very active with both of her son's education, and their sports, swimming and soccer. Other than being a devoted wife, mother & homemaker, she worked in the floral department at TG&Y, Bob Moore, and Council Road Baptist Church. Diane was also a "professional shopper". Whether online, or in-person, she could always locate any item, and at the best price! Many family members and friends knew to contact her if they were trying to find a particular item. In her free time, she belonged to a ladies & couples Bunco group. She loved hosting company, and always made it special, with a menu or a recipe that she had personally tweaked. Diane loved spending time with her family and friends in Sulphur at the lake house. She absolutely loved traveling until her illness in 2022, which placed her in assisted living. Holidays were always special for Diane, and she made them special for others. Traditionally our family had always celebrated Christmas, on Christmas Eve. Diane carried out this tradition by continuing to host family and friends on the 24th. She will be truly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Her husband of 40 years, Tom Thomas

She is survived by her sister, Mary and her husband Jim Bowring of Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Her brother-in-law, Steve Thomas

Her two sons: Hogan and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City; Grant and his wife Delena of Oklahoma City.

Grandsons: Chandler, Chad David & Jackson of Oklahoma City. As well as many other dear friends and family.
