Salvador
Mora
December 30, 1928 – July 9, 2024
There will be no public viewing for Mr. Salvador Mora.
A service to celebrate Salvador's life will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 15th at the South Colonial Chapel with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Salvador R Mora, patriarch of the Mora family in Oklahoma City was born on December 30, 1928, and passed away quietly in his home of 63 years on July 9, 2024. Salvador was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and was one of nine children. He immigrated to the United States in 1954 and after settling his life in the US he brought his wife and young daughter in 1956. Salvador lived in many places beginning in Enid, Oklahoma, moving to Wichita, KS and finally settling in Oklahoma City. Salvador began his professional life in the US as a tailor, a trade he learned as a youth in Mexico. Salvador worked in many clothing stores locally until he settled with Sears, Roebuck, and Co. as their tailor. After serving as their tailor for many years, he decided to try his hand at commission sales and retired from Sears after 21 years of service. A lover of languages, Salvador learned English through working at the stores he served and watching American television. He practiced Italian and Greek languages as well. Salvador was an entrepreneur at heart trying new enterprises throughout his life. He learned how to repair televisions and sold import inventory on a regular basis. A lover of music, Salvador taught himself how to play the accordion, organ, and piano.
Salvador was married to his bride, Socorro, for 70 years and they had four children, Stella, Alicia, Wayne, and Silvia. They had four grandchildren, Reyna, Paul, Micah, and Logan. They had five great grandchildren, Charity, Paul, Gabriel, Autumn, and Isa.
Salvador is survived by his wife, four children, three grandchildren, and five great-children. He has one remaining sister, Guadalupe who lives in Mexico.
We commemorate his long life from humble beginnings to a life of comfort for himself and Socorro. May his family always recognize his strength, adventure, and determination to live life as he wished. Rest in Peace, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Salvador R. Mora.
