Janey Wheeler went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 26th, 2025, at the age of 72. The daughter of Morris Everett Stewart and Beverly Jane Booher Loveall, she was born January 23, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She grew up attending schools in the area and graduated from S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls in 1971. Janey continued her education at El Centro College and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design in 1978. She furthered her education at Oklahoma City University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Studies in 2001. She then received a Master of Liberal Arts in Leadership Management in 2004 to conclude her education, she received her Master in Education to become a licensed professional counselor. Janey was a devoted and loving single mother of 2 children. She gave everything she had to raise her children with strength, grace, and unwavering support. Her life was a testament to resilience and unconditional love. Despite life's many challenges, she remained a steady, nurturing presence in the lives of those she cared for most. Janey also worked as a professional counselor for both the YWCA and OCCC for many years before her retirement. Janey was very passionate about traveling with friends, and listening to others' stories to help when they needed her the most, but nothing was as important as being with her family, whom she loved with all of her heart. Janey was known for her personality and her feisty, strong fighting spirit, and will be fondly remembered as a loving, kind woman. She loved and cared deeply for her family, and she will be held close to our hearts each day.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Jane Booher Loveall; father, Morris Everett Stewart; stepmother, Vinita Jo Stewart; stepfather, Vernon Loveall; stepbrothers, John Doughtry and Kevin Loveall; and great-grandson, John Walter Larkins VI.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sandy Stewart, Oklahoma City; son Colter Wheeler, Oklahoma City; sisters Beverly Hardridge, Edmond; Kathy Harris, Oklahoma City; Julie Buchanan, Yukon; Marcy and husband Les Miller, Oklahoma City; grand children Ashleigh and husband Jacob Ruth, Oklahoma City; Mason Jump and wife Kaytie Larkins, Akron, OH; Matthew Wheeler, Sedro-Woolley, WA; Emily Lowe, Oklahoma City; PFC Jarrett Lowe, Choctaw; Alexia Wheeler, Sedro-Woolley, WA; Timothy Wheeler, Sedro-Woolley, WA; Jager Wheeler, Sedro-Woolley, WA,12 Great Grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews and cousins;
Many other extended family & friends.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the North Colonial Chapel of Vondel L Smith and Son Mortuary - 13125 N MacArthur Blvd Okc, OK 73142
