Obituary

Sarah Ann "Granny" Mathis, 87, lived a long & joyful life & passed peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Granny was born in Oklahoma City on September 29, 1931, to Lee & Cleo Agnes Senseney Mathis. She grew up in Oklahoma City & graduated from Classen High School in 1950. Granny raised three daughters, one son & two stepchildren, fifteen grandbabies & fourteen great grandbabies, not to mention the dozens of little humans she babysat at her in-home daycare for over fifty years. She loved talking with people & this led her to be able to accept everyone, all the husbands & wives of her family instantly felt her love & acceptance. Granny loved to cook & was known for her signature "Granny's Cheesecake" (brought to us all by Jell-O!) & her ongoing competition for tallest "Perfect Chocolate Cake", at which she dominated.
