Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Newcastle, 1650 N. Main Street, Newcastle, with burial held at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 E. Indian Hills Road, Norman.
Scharlotte Ann Thagard, 83, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at her home with family close by her side. She was born on October 7, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Raleigh Josephus Maxwell and Anna Irene Keller. Scharlotte married the love of her life Michael Albert Thagard on June 18, 1958, and they were married for fifty-eight years. She found joy spending time with her family and watching OU sports. Scharlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her:
Parents, Raleigh and Anna Maxwell;
Siblings: Diana Conner and Raleigh Gene Maxwell;
Husband, Michael Albert Thagard;
And her first born Son, Michael Albert Jr.
She is survived by her loving:
Sons and daughters: Mike & Kristine Thagard, Scott & Marsha Thagard, and Rick Thagard;
Grandchildren: Cody & Sharee, Emilee & Austin, Britton & Camber, Savanna, Brooke, and Jackson;
Great-grandchildren: Tay, Opal, Wednesday, Riley, Caden and Cole;
Sister: Amy McGee;
Along with numerous family and friends.
