Sevella Jean VanPool passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the age of 91. The daughter of John Edward and Gertrude (Hames) Prater, Sevella was born May 29, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1949 and was voted the Football Queen that same year. Sevella married the love of her life Donald Eugene VanPool Sr. on June 12, 1949 and together shared 62 years of marriage. Sevella worked from 1971-1993 as a Financial Secretary for Moore Public Schools. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Prater; husband, Don VanPool. She leaves cherished memories with her loving son, Don II and wife Rebecca; son, Denny and wife Becky; daughter, Deanna; two grandsons, John and Bart; and one great-grandson, Leo James; numerous nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Visitation held at the funeral home on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-8 PM with the family present Thursday from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate her life held 1:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2023 in the South Lakes Chapel.
