Sharon Elaine Johnson Obituary
Sharon Elaine (Reed) Johnson (83), born October 31,1942 to James and Virginia (Richards) Reed in Shawnee, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Sharon attended Shawnee High School and earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. A woman of profound faith and tireless service, for over 66 years she was the devoted wife and partner in ministry to husband Earnest. She stood as a pillar of love and strength for her family and the many congregations they served. She walked in obedience to The Great Commission as she and Earnest embraced a calling to international missions serving in Zimbabwe and Malawi, Africa. Her life was a living testament to her love of Jesus and service to others.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Earnest Dale Johnson, a daughter Elaina (Bryan) Wesel and sons Kendall (Barbara) Johnson, Kevin (Angela) Johnson, Kyson (Elizabeth) Johnson and Jimmy (Alice) Manyanga. Granddaughters Sarah (Shawn) Rhea, Candis (Jason) Linscott, Amber (DJ) Neighbors, Paula Jones, and Kaysie Johnson. Grandsons Andrew (Melissa) Johnson, Matthew (Jennifer) Johnson, Tommy (Nicole) Jones, Colby Wesel and Jadin Wesel and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jerry (Nell) Reed, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Kaye Arlyce Reed and Karen June Henderson and daughter-in-law Tara Johnson.
While she is deeply missed by her family on earth, we rejoice in knowing she is now reunited with her Savior and those who preceded her. Sharon claimed Jeremiah 29:11 as her life verse - “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and future.”
