Sherry Lynn
Countryman
May 28, 1964 – February 18, 2026
On the evening of February 18th, 2026, Sherry Lynn Countryman passed peacefully through heaven's gates to be with her Lord and Savior. At home, surrounded by her family, Sherry's battle with breast cancer came to an end. From the time of her diagnosis until the day she departed this world, she was a warrior who fought the disease with tremendous strength, courage, dignity, and determination; with her daughter Courtney as her faithful caregiver, who remained by her side until the very end.
Sherry was born on May 28th, 1964 in Oceanside, New York. At the age of 4 years old, her mother and father loaded up a green VW Bug with all of their possessions as well as their fully grown German Shepherd, and set out for Oklahoma. Despite being a lifetime 'Okie', Sherry held tightly to her love of the New York Yankees and baseball. She was also a devout Christian with a love of classic rock, cars, and Mexican food.
Sherry is survived by her sister Shelly Crawford and husband Frank, nephews Braeden and Jaxon, and great-niece Isla, of Edmond, Oklahoma, her daughter Kristin Zumwalt and husband Chris, granddaughter Kendra, and grandsons Lance and Easton, of Waldron, Arkansas, and her daughter Courtney Countryman and husband Justin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Lois "Anita" Brinlee of Virginia and her father Ken Brinlee of Temple, Texas.
The family would like to send their deepest thanks to the staff of the OU Stephenson Cancer Center, OU Medical Center, particularly the amazing care team on the 7th floor, as well as all of the volunteers and service professionals that touched Sherry and Courtney's lives during their time there. The family would also like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Apex Home Health & Hospice, as well as a special thanks to her nurse, Crystal, for her commitment to caring for her until the very end. You have all touched our lives beyond measure and your kindness will never be forgotten.
