Shirley A. Unz-Coley was born

April 19, 1936 in Reddick, Illinois. She was an identical twin sister to Betty Unz- Ovendorf loving sister and best friend.

Shirley Coley passed on January 7, 2016. She was a people person and touched many lives with her gentle spirit and positive outlook on life.

Shirley worked at Central Illinois Railroad from 1954-1957 and for Continental and American Airlines from 1957-1961 as a stewardess which she enjoyed very much.

She took an active part in the Kiwi organization and at her church.

Shirley was very industrious and multi talented. Her infectious personality and adventurous attitude continued through out her lifetime and she had many friends who loved her.

Shirley was married to Daniel F. Coley on June 5,1960. Their marriage lasted 55 years and they were devoted to each other. From this union Daniel and Shirley had three boys who were the apple of her eye. Raising three energetic boys can have its challenges but Shirley knew how to handle being a mother with the utmost love and patience. Her boys adored her and taking care of her husband and children was the most important aspect of here life.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Commander Daniel F. Coley and first son COL. Elliot E. Coley. She is survived by devoted children Jack A. Coley and Steven D. Coley. Identical twin win sister Betty Unz-Ovendorf, brother Keith Boyer and Roger Boyer. Grandchildren Casey Coley, A.J. Coley, Hailey Coley, Katie Coley and Hunter Coley. Shirley's loving generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and Family are invited to a memorial service Monday, January 11, 2016 at 3:00PM at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel.
