Shirley Rogers Hopkins, Moore, Oklahoma, went to her eternal home to worship at the feet of Jesus on May 16, 2015 following a brief illness. Shirley was born July 17, 1933 to Buster and Ruby Rogers. Shirley was raised in Poteau, Oklahoma where she met and married Arvel Wayne Hopkins of Poteau. Wayne & Shirley lived in California during their early marriage, then moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where Wayne earned his Bachelor's degree at Southeastern State University. Wayne & Shirley eventually moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their three children. After retiring as an instructor from the FAA, Wayne accepted United Nations assignments with ICAO that took the couple traveling throughout the world. They lived in Amman Jordan, in Indonesia, and in Ethiopia, and traveled to many other destinations. Preceding Shirley in death are her parents, brother Bill Rogers, and her beloved husband Wayne. She is survived by children Michael Hopkins and wife Retha, Sheila Dillard and husband David, Cheryl Pazdernik and husband Michael, grandchildren Mandolynne Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins and wife Meghan, Nicholas Pazdernik, Bryan Dillard and wife Heather, John Dillard, great grandchildren Regan Clement, Dylan, Makenzie and Presley Dillard, Justin and Conner Hopkins. Also by nieces Cathy Caughron and Carol Williamson and many more relatives and friends. Shirley was a member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church. Services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, May 23 at Wilmont Place Baptist Church, 6440 South Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, with graveside service following at Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes, S.W. 119th & I-44, Oklahoma City. Viewing will be Friday evening at Vondel Smith South Lakes, 5-7pm.
