Shirley Rea of Oklahoma City entered her Heavenly Home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 14, 2026, at the age of 86.

Shirley was born on August 10, 1939, in Marshall, Texas, to Jesse Bechtold and Mattie B. Bechtold. She grew up alongside her siblings, Mae Dean, Billy Ray, and Reba.

September 28, 1957, Shirley married her childhood sweetheart, Jackie Don Rea. Their love story began when they were just 13 and 14 years old, together they shared nearly 69 wonderful years of marriage. Shirley and Jack made their home in Oklahoma City, where they raised their daughter, Kari, and son, Steve.

Shirley's faith was the foundation of her life. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived her life with unwavering strength, kindness, devotion, and grace. Throughout her marriage, she enjoyed traveling with Jack, spending time with family and friends, and being very actively involved in the lives and activities of all her grandchildren near and far. Shirley also dedicated more than 20 years to teaching preschool, touching the lives of countless children and families.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Bechtold and Mattie B. Plumlee, her sister, Reba Baker; her brother, Billy Ray Bechtold; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, Jack; her daughter, Kari; her son, Steve and wife Susi; her Grandchildren, Melissa and husband Brian, Tyler and wife Emilee, Jacob, Cassie and husband John; her Great-Grandchildren; Trent and wife Jenae, Chase, Shelbee, Mallori, Preston, Jack, Millee, Avery Ann, Bryce, Hunter, Madison, Kate, Braden, and Bowen. Her Great-Great-Grandchildren, Jett and Banks; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Shirley will be remembered for her strong faith, her love for her family, her gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
