Stanley Lynn Albertson passed away August 8th, 2026, in Norman, OK with his daughter Shanda by his side.

He was born March 1, 1953, in Bandon, Oregon to Arthur Lawrence and Genieve Evans Haga Albertson. He didn’t care for school much and most days he would skip and go fishing at his grandma’s. The family adopted a baby fawn named Lamby. Lamby would bring the big bucks to the yard and his dad would shoot them, and the family would have their meat. His grandpa Jack taught him a good work ethic by making him work in the cranberry bogs and also taught him to hunt and fish.

Stan enlisted in the Army in 1970. He met his first wife shortly after and they have 3 daughters. Stan worked as a handyman until 1978, when the couple divorced. He then got a job at the GM plant in 1979 where he met the love of his life Necie. They worked side by side and later got married that same year. The following year the couple welcomed a daughter.

Stan and Necie had many adventures and hobbies from helping Ronnie with his racecar, to racing four wheelers, floating the Illinois River, having horses, and boats. He loved to woodwork but his true passion was guns. Stan’s friend Jeff got him to compete in SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) where he and Shanda went most weekends. Stan was a very loving, caring man that if he knew you wanted or needed something he would seek it out. He loved taking anyone he could convince to go hunting and fishing and before the trip was over he would stop at the store and say “grab what you want.” If he didn’t think you got enough he would load your arms up with more. His home was always full of endless fun and entertainment. He loved dropping gifts off to Mikayla and Ashlyn affectionately called him Stan the Man. Throughout his life he has been banned from just about every go cart track in the metro area.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Albertson, Genieve Haga Sells and Hank Sells. His siblings Jerene and Butch Whitney, Richard Alberston and Diane Alberston. His wife of 44 years Cheryl Denise “Necie” Albertson. His in laws James and Beatrice Carey, Thema Carey, Don Carey, Rita Michal “Shelly” Brown, Estel Fisher and Calvin Bagley.

He is survived by his daughters Casey Smith and family, Amy Jameson and family, Kirstie Albertson and family, Shanda Albertson of the Home; siblings, Wendy Welsh and family, Jana Buie and family, Rich Albertson and Family, Ray Alberston and family, Heidi McGuire and family, Thelma Mastel, Mandy Buckingham; in-laws Linda “Ninnie” Fisher and family, Leda “Sissy” Walters and family, Carlotta Carey and family, Carol Jean Bagley and family, Marty Brown, Wesley Brown and family, Shirlene Howard and family, Brad Carey and family, Vanessa Ashby and family, and many more friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vondel Smith & Son Mortuary – South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73173.

A second Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Atoka Church of the Firstborn, 6974 S. Forrest Hill Rd. Atoka, OK 74525.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Atoka Church of the Firstborn, 6974 S. Forrest Hill Rd. Atoka, OK 74525. Burial will follow immediately at Green Meadow’s Cemetery in Atoka.
