Obituary

Steven Franklin Loflin was born July 9, 1948 in Oklahoma City the son of Frederick Franklin and Jeanne Marie (Jordan) Loflin. He completed this life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 73.

Steve was raised in Oklahoma City where he graduated from Putnam City High School in 1966 and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in Business, where he was a member and president of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. Steve married Marsha Lynne Schroer on June 5, 1971 in Oklahoma City.

Steve worked as a Human Resources Manager in the oil and gas industry, including time at Texas Pacific, Sun Oil, and Oryx Energy for almost 25 years. In 1992, he and Marsha founded their own retail business, Store it in Style, in Casady Square in Oklahoma City which they ran for nearly 20 years.

Steve had many passions in life. Most notably, Steve was an avid Beatles collector and traveled the country collecting Beatles memorabilia. He was even invited to be a guest lecturer, speaking about his collection in a History of the Beatles class at the University of Oklahoma. Despite graduating from OSU, Steve was a devoted OU Football fan, and he and Marsha enjoyed being OU football season ticket holders for many years. Steve spent as much time as possible on the golf course, playing several times a week. Steve and Marsha were members of the Sooner Thunderbird Club and enjoyed participating in the club events and going to Thunderbird road trips with the group. Steve was also the proud owner of a 1965 Mustang that he restored. Steve was known by many to be a human encyclopedia because he had knowledge of many topics, which came in handy during trivia contests. Steve especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, attending their sporting events, school programs, taking them to museums and traveling with them. Steve and Marsha enjoyed taking road trips, many of which were planned around historical landmarks and civil war battlefields, and they included their grandson Jaxon on more recent trips. He also recently joined the Oklahoma division of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. In the rest of his free time, he enjoyed attending concerts, watching Nascar races, enjoying vintage classic movies, and reading a good book.

Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marsha; his daughter, Stacy Loflin Tanner and her husband James of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Jordan Tanner and Jaxon Tanner; his brother, W. Michael Loflin and his wife Jeanie of Frisco, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
