He was a devoted husband and loved spending time with his family, especially his 6 grandchildren. He loved reading, gardening, music, and animals of all kinds. He was insatiable in his pursuit of knowledge, and passionate about passing it on to his many students as a history professor at UCO, OCCC, and other schools. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda; his mother Shirley; and his brothers Mark and Steve. He is survived by his children Juliet and Jon Hill; Rebecca and Bryan Bichsel; and Ryan and Laurel Howard, all of Oklahoma City; his father Marshall Howard; his brother Mike Howard; his sister Marsha Burridge; his grandchildren Tyler, Jacob, Jackson, and Grace Bichsel; Maxwell and Juliana Hill; and many other family and friends.
