Susan Southerland, 71, went to be with her Heavenly father on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The daughter of Tullie L. Jessup and Nancy R. Snipes, she was born September 18, 1952 at Sampson Air Force Base in Interlaken, New York. After New York, her family was stationed in Madrid, Spain for a short time, then finally settled in Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the Midwest City area and graduated from Midwest City High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

After leaving college early, Susan returned years later to Oklahoma City University graduating May 10, 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Susan worked for the Oklahoma City VA Hospital as an administrative assistant for most of her adult life until her retirement January 2013.

Susan was very passionate about family, friends, pets, and charity work. She loved to read, cook and be creative. She will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving and generous woman to everyone she touched in life.

She was deeply loved and will be immensely missed.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor her life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the South Lakes Chapel of Vondel Smith Mortuary South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73173. Friends may leave condolences for the family at www.vondelsmithmortuary.com
