Sylvia Vessels died May 13th, 2015 more than 100 years after her arrival. She had an unforgettable spirit and will be remembered for her sharp wit, impeccable dress and multitude of hobbies. She was born in Prairie Hill, OK the daughter of Flossie and Burr Speck and had six siblings: Mary Alice, Burton, Lucille, Mildred, Dorris and Morris. Sylvia Left home from Altus, Oklahoma at age 16 to attend the University of Oklahoma where she lettered in handball and basketball. She also played the piano for the college radio station. Her garden was legendary and her rosebushes continue to bloom to this day. She was an outstanding golfer having won her last tournament at the age of 87. She irritated younger players when she would beat them. There wasn't a crossword puzzle she couldn't solve or a seam she couldn't perfect. Sylvia dressed splendidly with her hair perfectly coiffed and her lipstick never smeared. She loved bridge, bread and butter, bourbon and Braums in no particular order. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her husbands, William D. Warner, Sr. in 1968 and Muerl C. Vessels in 2000. Surviving are her children Bill Warner, Ellen Wilson and Bob Warner; her son-in-law, David Wilson and her grandchildren, Paige and Kris Branam, Will, Hannah, Claire, Sophie and Ella Warner and Susan Wilson. Services to celebrate a century of Sylvia will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive. Following the service the family will host a picnic at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Memorials may be made to the Center of Family Love, P.O.
