Obituary

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Terrie Luton. Terrie passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on April 22, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from US Grant High School. Terrie was an artistic individual that thrived in her salon accomplishments. Terrie was known for her loving and caring nature, a vibrant personality full of laughter and life.

Terrie's journey through life was marked by a deep-rooted belief in Christianity, which guided her through both challenges and triumphs. Her faith gave her comfort and direction, and it was a source of inspiration to those who knew her. She lived on the foundation of kindness and laughter, which she spread around to everyone she crossed paths with.

To know Terrie is to know she would spend her mornings with a cup of coffee by her pool reading her devotional with her dog, Hazel. Which would always be followed by a great book for most of her days. She could light up any room she walked into with her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. Many people described her as "Hollywood beautiful". She lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dogs over the years.

Although Terrie is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

A beloved member of our family, Terrie is survived by her mother Markredith Schenk (and step father Ed Schenk), father Wayne Penny (and step mother Catherine Penny), her two sisters Melanie Penny and Stephanie Navarro, her brother Erwin Penny (wife Traci), and her three nieces Gervais Penny, Paige Coury (husband David), and Peyton Bailey, and her nephew Luke Penny.

Terrie was a strong and adventurous soul who spent her time traveling the world, riding Harley Davidson bikes with her friends down California Highway 1, to Eureka Springs, the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, and many other amazing places. She was always enjoying a beach/pool front view and was an avid snorkeling/scuba driver. Most of those precious memories were held with her family and her late husband C. DeWayne Luton. We know she has embarked on this new journey with DeWayne by her side smiling down on all of us and is living her healthy, happy life we all remember her as and we know heaven welcomed the most beautiful angel through His gates.

Terrie would not want us to mourn her but would want all of us to celebrate her life and to hold the memories you made with her close to your heart.
