Terry went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday July 13, 2021 in Oklahoma City after dealing with cancer since 2019. Terry was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Arthur Edward Morgret and Judy Caroline (Bradley) Morgret. As a young boy Terry lived in Arkansas, California, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. He was raised everywhere, but he called Oklahoma his home. He spent his mid- teenage years in Cleveland, Oklahoma where he attended high school. He and his brother Darryl made life very colorful together in their youth and if you want some great stories, just ask Ed or Judy and they will read the novel. Terry was always the life of the party and even during his final days was trying to entertain the best he could.
As a young man, Terry worked at Western Sizzlin in Oklahoma City on I-240 and Pennsylvania for many years. He later worked for Able Movers in OKC and made countless friends and happy customers throughout the years as a mover. Anyone that knew Terry was aware of his love for taking things apart and fixing them (or at least putting them back together.) When he took a job with Hospice Source in OKC his tinkering skills and knowledge of moving came in handy. Daily, Terry was repairing electronic equipment and was often moving medical equipment and beds in or out of a residence. He made sure his clients were as happy as possible. He always enjoyed working and being able to help others at the same time.
Family was very important to Terry. Being a father brought him great joy. He loved spending time with his daughters Nichole and Kandace. When they were younger, Terry enjoyed taking them to the park, the swimming pool, and Lake Arcadia. His favorite place to take them was probably the State Fair, which was also one of his favorite places to go. He taught his girls many important life lessons and tried his best to make sure they were good people. In later years his grandchildren brought him great joy. One of his favorite things to do with the grandkids was bring the party to their house around their birthdays. Balloons, all of the ice creams, cupcakes, presents, the whole shebang. His grandchildren will always remember the Poppy Parties. Terry also made a point to bring everyone joy on almost every holiday with gifts, phone calls, or greeting cards. Terry's mother, father and brother were also very dear to him. He would often be over at their houses helping with repairs, remodels or yard work. As Terry's health declined he was unable to be active and travel to see his parents which was tough for him because they were such an important part of his life.
When Terry wasn't working or spending time with family he absolutely loved watching movies and listening to music. Among his favorites were Beetlejuice and Eddie Money. Terry had quite the collection of VHS tapes, DVD's, CD's, Cassette Tapes and more than likely a few 8-tracks and Vinyl Records in the stash. Terry loved to spend time outdoors, swimming or even just laying out getting his tan on. Hanging outside also gave him the room to play with his hacky sack. He also liked to repair electronics, especially computers, and he was always willing to help others with "fixing" things, no matter what it was. Terry was very humble and would literally give you the shirt off his back or even his vehicle if you were in need.
A little over a decade ago, Terry shifted his focus in life and set some personal goals. He had given up cigarettes and alcoholic beverages which made room for an open road toward a new way of life. With wide open possibilities ahead of him, he filled his life with a passion to learn more about Jesus, to be Christ-like in all ways, focus on healthy living, family, good company, and hard work. From all of this, he was fulfilled with the love of Jesus as well as wonderful experiences and memories with family and friends. Terry did a lot of living in his 57 years. He is no longer here with us and that is difficult to cope with but we know he is in a better place without pain. His life will live on throughout each of us and the memories we made with him on his journey through life.
