Service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Edmond, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Dr. Thomas F.W. Dudley, DDS, 79, passed away October 10, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on January 14, 1931 to Bill and Dr. Alberta Dudley. Tom graduated Classen High school in 1948. He attended one year at Wentworth Military Academy. Thomas graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1953. He then attended St. Louis University School of Dentistry, where he met Kay and they spent four years at Fort Sill Army Base. Thomas was accepted into the Oral Surgery residency program in Birmingham, AL. in 1961.He returned to Oklahoma City with his family, where he established a private practice. Tom was instrumental in the planning stages for what was then the South Community Hospital as an active staff member. Tom has also worked in the Republican Party on the local and State levels since 1964. He served 8 years for the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. He served in this capacity with great joy and served as president of the Board for 1 term. Tom established a dental clinic at the Baptist Mission Center in South Oklahoma City. He has served as a deacon in his church for over 40 years. Tom has been a member in the South Oklahoma City Rotary Club for over 50 years. Tom was also the staff Oral Surgeon of the Federal Penitentiary in El Reno, OK. In recent years he was a Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the OU College of Dentistry School. He so enjoyed teaching, even in his private practice. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kay Dudley of 55 years, one son, Stephen Dudley and wife RaChel of Edmond, two daughters, Andria Whaley and husband Kent of Edmond and Brittanie Harner and husband David of Las Vegas, NV. He has 8 grandchildren, Cameron Whaley, Jordan Dudley, Lauren Warn, Pascha Sanders, Olivia Flatt, Madison Harner, Greyson Dudley, and Collin Harner and 5 of their spouses, and 11 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be sent to Okla. Baptist Home for Children or the South OKC Rotary Foundation.
