Obituary

Thomas Gareld (Gary) Hukill passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease. He was born April 27, 1949 in Amherst, Texas to Thomas Noland Hukill and Marie (Jones) Hukill. He grew up on a farm in west Texas and was always a country boy at heart.

Gary was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved life and family and was a friend to all. He loved his wife Linda and was ever devoted to her. He enjoyed fishing and going to the mountains. He liked country music, windmills, trains, gardening, his old red pickup truck and hosting family barbecues.

He graduated from Olton High School in 1967 and attended 2 years of college at West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M) in Canyon, Texas before returning to work the family farm when his father became ill.

Gary never met a stranger and had an extensive career in sales of everything from TY Beanie Babies to Howard Miller clocks and security systems for law enforcement and schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noland Hukill and Marie Hukill Dilworth.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda (Stanley) Hukill; son, Clint Hukill (Dr. Liana Proffer) of Amarillo, Texas; son, Kevin Jones (Aileen) of Mustang, OK; daughter, Shelli Elliott (Jason) of Mustang, OK; brother, Gordon Hukill of Yukon, OK; grandchildren: Colton, Christian and Cade Hukill; Jackson, Hudson and Emerson Jones; and Anistyn and Lily Elliott; sister-in-law Karen Whiteman (Don); in-laws, Howard W. and Carol Stanley; uncle, James (Sharon) Hukill and nieces and nephews.

Gary loved the Lord and we take much comfort in knowing he is at peace. He was always happy and had a radiant, winning smile that we shall miss until we meet again.
