Threca "Terri" Faye (Newman) Tipton, 89, was born on July 27, 1931 in Flippin, Arkansas, the only child of The Reverend Ray and Faye Newman. She went to be with her Lord on February 28, 2021. Terri married the love of her life Dan Tipton on October 22, 1950 at the Church of God in Cushing, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane "Dee" Tipton and Susan "Susie " Orander; grandchildren: Kellie Williams and her husband Dave and their children Riley and Colton; Luke Orander and his wife Haylee and their children Owen, Olivia and Eli; Caleb Orander and his children Ryker and Bentley; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a community of grateful friends.
Terri was very active in her church, singing in the choir, working in the office, managing education classes, playing the piano, serving as the coordinator of funeral dinners and a host of other activities. She enjoyed playing canasta with her circle of church friends. She loved going to the cabin at Lake Tenkiller. She was an amazing cook, housekeeper, and liked to work in her flower gardens.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her husband of 69 years, Dan. They met in junior high school and never looked back. She accompanied Dan on all his work trips that often included international travel, exquisite dinners, and in her words, "fancy" parties.
Her title of "mother" was probably her greatest accomplishment. She was there for every honor, every success, all the failures. She was present for all the good times, the bad times and all the everything in-between times, never judging just accepting.
As time took its toll on her body and mind, she never lost her wit, her friendliness or her ability for kindness. She will be sorely missed by her family.
Special thanks to Home Instead Caregiving: they took exceptional care of her, Integris Hospice, and to Debbie Boatman, RN truly an angel sent from above. In lieu of flowers please donate generously to the Agape Hospice House. They made her last few days (and the family) comfortable and bearable with compassion and caring surpassed by none.
All that I am
Or ever hope to be,
I owe
To my angel mother.
