Obituary

Timothy Jesse Curtis when to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday April 12, 2026.

Tim was born July 30, 1954 in Exeter, California to Jesse and Melva Curtis. As a young boy, Tim enjoyed playing with his cousins and model trains and reading In school, Tim excelled in math and science. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1974.

Following high school Tim attended Warner Pacific college in Portland, OR. He returned home and started working at Mervyn’s Department Store in Visalia CA. He was also taking courses at Fresno State college. While working at Mervyn’s, Tim met the love of his life, Melissa Reynolds. Their relationship soon blossomed and the two married on June 15, 1979 at Exeter Church of God. The newlyweds continued working for Mervyn’s and transferred to Portland, Oregon. Tim was interested in computers and changed careers to the emerging technology of computers and attended the University of Portland. He graduated from UP with a bachelor’s in computer science in 1988. Tim began his network engineering career with Legacy Health Systems in Oregon. In 1993 Tim and Melissa moved to Oklahoma City and Tim started his new contracting position with The Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in OKC. He retired in 2020 and was able to use the time to relax and spend more time with his family.

Tim loved Disney World and took his family on numerous trips over the years. Some of his favorite rides were The Test Track and Mission Space In Epcot. Tim & Melissa visited their daughter in England when she was studying abroad, and they saw some epic sights on their trip. Most notably Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard the Tower of London and Normandy historic sites in France. They made some great memories together during that time. Tim and Melissa made a trip to Germany in December of 2025. They both visited countless historical sites from the war and it was a life-changing and emotional experience for both of them. Some of their favorite stops along the way were seeing the Berlin Wall, the Bavarian Alps and the Brandenburg Gate. They also visited the Christmas markets in Germany, which was lovely and unique.

Tim was a WWII history buff and was very knowledgeable about that era. He liked reading WWII literature and watching films or documentaries about that war era. He also enjoyed model trains. He collected many over the years and was always fascinated with them.

Tim had a great wit, wacky sense of humor and although he wasn’t often caught smiling, he loved to make others laugh. He loved his children very much and was very proud of them. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched,

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Curtis.

He is survived by his mother, Melva; Wife; Melissa; Son; Paul Curtis and wife Kim; Daughter, Michelle Curtis; 2 Grandchildren, Jesse and Henry Curtis; and beloved Sister, Cheri Elkins.
