Tryna Teague, 61, of Norman passed away Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Her husband Ron was holding her hand until she reached the end of her journey.

Tryna was born January 11, 1962 in Tachikawa Air Base, Japan to Ronald and Lois Bernack. Tryna grew up all over the map, as her father was in the military, they moved often. She lived in Japan, the Philippines, and Washington state and their final move was to Oklahoma where they planted their roots.

In Tryna's teenage years she cheered for the Redskins overseas, she was part of the swim team in Moore, and ran long distance track at Choctaw high. She graduated high school in 1979 and decided to get into nursing. She received her LPN in 1980 from Mid-Del Vo Tech and began working at St. Anthony Hospital. She later attended Rose State college and was certified as a Registered Nurse. Tryna was on the honor roll when she graduated from Rose State in 1994 while raising her two young children, Hillary and Skyler. She worked for St. Anthony for 13 years and Norman Regional Hospital for 18 years until she resigned in 2016 due to her illness. She was awarded the Guardian Angel award and was awarded for Outstanding volunteerism the most hours for youth health School Screens; another award she received was for donating the most blood. She specialized in medical surgical treatment room, medical surgical psych, and doctor office clinics. She had a servant's heart and loved giving of herself to help others.

Tryna married the love of her life, Ron Teague on August 24, 1985 in Oklahoma City. They loved biking, hiking and camping together. For Tryna, the outdoors was home. Tryna was an avid bicyclist and loved the wind in her face and feeling of freedom she got while riding her bike. She was a very active outdoorswoman and climbed many mountains throughout the United States including the top of Pikes Peak. Tryna and Ron often took their children along on their outdoor adventures. Family Camping was a favorite activity and they made many fond memories together.

Anyone that knew Tryna was aware of her punctual tendencies. She always made sure she was on time to everything. Tryna always wanted to do what was right and was not afraid to correct others when she saw them doing something that didn't fit her moral or ethical views. She was a hard worker, great friend and a genuinely good person. Although Tryna is no longer here on this earth, her spirit and legacy will live on through the memories she made with her family and friends.
