VallaRea's services will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2:00PM in the South Lakes Chapel located at 4000 SW 119th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73173.
VallaRea Rose, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 4th at approximately 12:35 p.m.
She was born December 2nd, 1940, to Waldo Emerson (Rex) Stowe and Freida Adrian Stowe. VallaRea was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around her family. Her strength, and unconditional love created a legacy that will continue through many generations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Rose; her mother, Freida Stowe; Her Father Waldo Emerson (Rex) Stowe; her sister, Janice Joy; her son-in-law Tony Null and her beloved son, Dennis Rose.
VallaRea is survived by her daughters, Vicki Null and Michelle Shultz, Her Daughter-in-law Gail Bivens-Rose, Her Son-in-law Garrett Shultz, Her nephews Jeff, Greg and Mark Lindsey. She also set the stage for seven cherished grandchildren: Chasity Rudd, Tiffany Miller, Josie Hildebrand, Samantha Fries, Summer Williams, Taylor Ortega, and Paige Ellis. Her legacy continues through her fifteen great-grandchildren: James Rudd, Morgan Weaver, Raiden Rudd, Christian Miller, Kadience Miller, Presley Rudd, Norah Williams, Emorie Williams, Vanessa Miller, Cy Williams, Sutton Ortega, Percival Fries, Beatrice Fries, and Franklin Ortega. She was also blessed with four great-great-grandchildren: Corbin Weaver, Ava Weaver, Dosen Rudd, and Raelynn Rose Rudd.
VallaRea graduated valedictorian of her class from Southeast high school in Oklahoma City. She was an exceptional bookkeeper and was the backbone of the family business. They opened Jerry’s Foods in 1971 and opened a second store two years later. They pivoted to convenience stores in the 80’s.
She was a spectacular hostess and cherished Christmas parties at her home as well as lots of family gatherings. She was also a talented seamstress who custom made clothing, curtains, bedroom sets, and even purses and bags. Her creativity extended far beyond sewing. She designed the layout of a beautiful addition to her home in 1995 and had a remarkable talent for interior decorating. She had a talent for gift wrapping and bow making. VallaRea was also a wonderful cook and an avid reader who found joy in learning and creating throughout her life. Above all, VallaRea’s life was defined by the love she gave so freely to her family. She was an exceptional woman that will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew her
