IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victoriano
Cardenas
August 21, 1942 – March 26, 2025
Victoriano Cardenas, age 83, went to be with The Lord on March 26, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with multiple cancers. He was surrounded and supported by his loving children and passed peacefully in his home while holding the hands of his beloved partner, Gloria Chico. Tano was born in Mission, Texas where he lived until he married and bravely left with his first wife, Dominga, and first son, Diego Cardenas, with $25 to his name to make a new life for themselves out in California. There he moved with Bay Area Cardenas' and soon settled in the valley of Milpitas and had four more sons and one daughter while establishing a loving home and lifetime career with General Motors. He would later move to Oklahoma with his job and met and married the love of his life Jackie Cardenas. They would travel to Texas and back to Oklahoma happily working together with GM into retirement. Tano was a devoted family man, loving husband, father, uncle, brother son, and doting grandfather who especially found joy in raising his grandchildren in all ways he could, as they each held a special place in his heart. He always said his grandchildren gave him purpose and strength to fight his health issues. He enjoyed family time the most traveling, fishing, barbecuing, gardening, creating special memories with his loved ones and being a safe person of service to those he blessed. He was a strong, kind, generous man, honorable provider, a fierce protector, and was loved dearly by his family.
Victoriano was survived by his five children: sons-Diego Cardenas, David Cardenas, Daniel and spouse Celia Cardenas, and Vic Cardenas; and daughter Dorothy Cardenas; and grandchildren Kyle, Levi, Maya, Jeremy, David, Kayla, Sierrah, Victoria, Anahi, Victoriano, Andy and Heaven. He is now reunited in heaven with his parents and siblings and son, Benjamin Cardenas. We will all continue to cherish his legacy of love for family, strength in purpose and compassion for others.
His love, loyalty, patience and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May, 17th at 11 a.m. at Vondell Smith & Sons at South Lakes in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
