Viengthong Sy, 54, passed away on August 14, 2020 at 2am at Integris Hospice House. She was born December 1, 1965 in Vientiane, Laos and immigrated to the United States in 1980 and settled in Abilene, Texas. She and the family moved to Oklahoma in 1981. She was wed to Sophon (Henry) Sy in 1981 and shortly after gave birth to three beautiful daughters: Sophia, Stacey, and Samantha. Among many things, Vieng really enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, because this often led to one of her favorite things which was her family coming together to enjoy each other's company. Vieng also loved to bargain shop at Ross, the color blue, and watching movies with her husband Paul. She is survived by her current husband: Paul Tran; daughters: Sophia Urie, Stacey Chandler, and Samantha Sy: parents: Kay and Sathiane Basy; brothers: Billy (Lo) Basy, La Basy, and Lon Basy; sisters: Manisone (Ting) Rhodes, Nikki (Inn) Basy, Debbie (Vong) Quick; grandchildren: Joseph McGuire, Asher Urie, Matthew McGuire, and Issac McGuire.
