Viola "Topsy" Hall was born March 7, 1927 to R.C. and Effie Foster Roland. Though her biological father was R.C., the man who helped raise her and whom she idolized was her stepfather, Paul Myers. Originally from the small town of Washington, Oklahoma, her family relocated to Norman where she attended Norman High School and worked at the The Oklahoma Theatre on Main Street. In 1948, Topsy met the love of her life, Leo Earnest Hall, while the two were working at Central State Hospital in Norman. Though his friends were initially doubtful of his success, Leo was finally able to woo the sought-after Topsy and the two married on May 7, 1949. Being a child of the Great Depression, she was always quite frugal, though Leo constantly dismissed such frugality and ensured that she would never lack or be without. The union has thus far resulted in two children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The two were happily married for 46 years until Leo's passing in 1995. Topsy was an incredibly gracious, nurturing, comedic, blessed, and appreciative woman. She loved Elvis, Billy Graham, pantsuits, a clean, tidy home, and FAMILY.
She is preceded in death by
her husband Leo Earnest Hall,
son Richard Paul Hall,
brother Paul Myers Jr.
She is survived by:
her son Leo "Tim" E. Hall Jr of Norman;
grandchildren Kristi Evans and her husband Ronnie of Edmond, Ricky Hall and his wife Destiny of Moore, Jeffrey Hall and his dog Penelope of Oklahoma City, and Michael Hall and his wife Kelly of Abilene, Texas; great-grandchildren Gage and Hunter Evans and Dylan and Emma Hall; and sister Linda Lane and her husband Vaile and brother Neil Myers and his wife Brenda.
