On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, Virginia Theresa Ashley (Peña); mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend to so many, left this mad world to join her loved ones in heaven. She was a spunky 72 years old, and loved to travel with her sister, have a cold drink, and brag about her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Virginia always had an opinion and would easily share it. She "knew" the names of her favorite waiters, wanted her flip phone back because she just wanted to talk, not mess with all that "other stuff", and was always losing her keys, her phone, or her pouch. She loved dogs and missed her Ahha with all her heart. She made the best fudge, applesauce cakes, fried potatoes, and cheese enchiladas. She could spin a tale that would make everyone smile, and she was the first one in the kitchen to help clean up. She loved her family, the lake, rummy, and a little gambling for fun. She will be missed.
Virginia is survived by her sons Matt and Charles, Charley's wife Charlene and grandchildren Taryn, Tyler and his wife Misha, and Theresa and her husband Tito and great-grandchild Isabel. Also, her sisters, Alta, Carmen, and Maxine, and brother Philip and wife Kaye as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A memorial will be held when the world is no longer distancing and family can embrace, mourn, and celebrate the life of Virginia together
