Von Alan Roberts was born September 25, 1962 in Oklahoma City, the son of Theodore, "Ted" Montgomery, and Barbara Dean Hawkins Roberts.

Von completed his life on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Moreno Valley, California, at the age of 62.

Von was preceded in death by his father in 1988 and his mother in 2006.

Von is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deanna; his son, Sky Roberts; his daughter, Lea Roberts Holtmyer and her husband, Logan; his brothers, Gary Roberts and wife, Johnnie, and Scott Roberts and wife, Jamie.

Von was raised in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Northwest Classen high school in 1980. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University for a couple of years before returning closer to home and attending Central State University in Edmond.

Growing up, Von found himself on a Honda CR 125 and started racing motocross in 1974. He enjoyed years of traveling with his dad, brother and friends to motocross races around the country. He quickly excelled at racing and ultimately competing in the expert division. Although he quit racing motocross in 1983, he couldn't resist and got back onto the bike in 1989. He attended his final race on January 11, 2025 at Angel stadium in California with his brother Scott.

Von also worked to get his private pilots license and soon after became a flight instructor in the mid-1980s. Throughout his life, Von never lost his passion for flying.

In the early 1990s, Von and his brother Scott obtained their EMT license and began working for Mercy ambulance service, occasionally working together on the same crew.

Later he joined his dad Ted in the business he founded in 1947, Acenitox Pest Control. After the death of his dad, in 1988, Von, along with his brothers, Gary and Scott, continued to operate the business. In 1998, the name of the business was changed to Acenitec as they strived to be more ecologically friendly.

Von married Deanna Marie Tedford on February 16, 1991, in Oklahoma City. They made their home and raised their children, Sky and Lea, in Oklahoma City and Deer Creek. Von created many cherished memories with his family.

After spending his career growing the family business, Von and his brother Gary, sold Acenitec in 2024, and started his retirement. Eager to spend more time traveling in his retirement, his first retirement trip was to California to visit his brother Scott.

Von loved all sports and was a huge Oklahoma Sooner fan, especially during the years his daughter was in Norman attending the University of Oklahoma. He never missed an opportunity to get together with friends to watch a game or attend a sporting event.

Von was a passionate music lover, and enjoyed playing the bass guitar in his younger years. Some of his favorite bands were Rush, Kiss and The Scorpions. One of his favorite pastimes was listening to RUSH on his back patio in the company of his friends and family.

Von also had a deep love for animals. If you were his friend on Facebook, you would know that he posted about animals needing homes every single day.

Von will be remembered for his strong faith, love for family and generous heart. He knew no stranger.
