WANDA REE ARNOLD McCARTY FILLMORE

March 7, 1934 ~ January 23, 2025

Wanda Ree Arnold McCarty Fillmore went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the age of 90. The daughter of Herman and Lola (Flowers) Arnold, she was born on March 7, 1934 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Wanda grew up attending rural schools in the Atoka area. In 1952, the morning after graduating from Atoka High School, Wanda married Guy McCarty. The couple moved to Texas where Guy had a job working in the oil fields. While living in Texas, Wanda bore her children, Carolyn and Jimmy, who were the lights of her life. The family relocated to Sand Springs, OK where Wanda tended to and nurtured her family. Later in her life, Wanda continued her education and earned a master's degree in social work preparing her to work with dialysis patients. Later, she married Millard Fillmore and enriched his family's life.

Wanda was a very gifted, self-taught seamstress as well. She could make anything out of fabric and was very creative, resourceful and generous with her abilities and time. Wanda was brave, kind and a careful, non-judgmental observer of life around her. With a love for traveling and reading, Wanda also loved spending time at her home, tending to her lawn, gardens and the surrounding nature. Wanda loved being an integral part of her grandchildren's lives and will be remembered as being perfect.

She was preceded in death by her:

Parents: Herman & Lola (Flowers) Arnold

Husbands: Guy McCarty and Millard Fillmore

Sisters: Yvonne Meller and Maureen Kay Arnold

Grandchildren: Jody and Jaime McCarty.

She leaves behind her loving family:

Daughter, Carolyn Pimsler and her husband, Roger Harlin

Son, Jimmy McCarty and his wife, Jan

Brother, Harvey Arnold

Sister, Deloras Kelley

4 Grandchildren: Amanda Wichert, Sarah Pimsler, Julie Wolfe, and Tiffini Florian

6 Great Grandchildren: Jonas, Marin and Renna Wichert, Hannah Wolfe and Sidney and Tasha Florian

Several nieces, nephews and cousins

Many other extended family & friends.
