Obituary

Wanda Lee Worthy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the age of 80 years old. The daughter of Phoebe Rose (Fite) and Wally Wilford Turman, Wanda was born on March 26, 1945 in Salem, Oregon. Wanda grew up attending Oklahoma City public schools through high school, where she attended Central High School. Wanda met a handsome young gentleman by the name of Martis "Don" Worthy and the two were married in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 5, 1964. This union was blessed with 3 daughters, Lori, Lawanda and Jessica. Wanda and Don enjoyed 61 years of a wonderful and loving marriage together. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and a dedicated grandmother, Wanda was also a licensed beautician. For more than 50 years, Wanda worked countless hours as a hairdresser; helping others to feel good and look beautiful. Wanda successfully owned and operated her own beauty salon for 14 years in the American General Building and 12 years on N. Hefner and May, with her daughter Lori working by her side. Wanda's family was the center of her world. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Wanda's love for her family was unwavering and unconditional. She enjoyed playing softball with her family, well into her 60's.  Wanda also enjoyed coaching girls fast pitch softball team, for her daughters, Lawanda and Jessica. She was also a pitching coach for many years, as well. At an early age, Wanda accepted the Lord into her heart and strived to live a life honoring and serving Him. She attended South Penn Church of Christ and was an active member for many years. Her genuineness, generosity and servant's heart was a true testament of God's love and her love for the Lord! She loved and lived life with zest and embraced trials and victories with grace! She made the most of her moments, especially those spent with her kids and grandkids. They were the truest joy and center of Wanda's life. The magnitude of positive inspiration and influence that Wanda had on others has helped shape their lives for joy and success.
