Visitation for Wayne will be from 12–8 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Vondel Smith Mortuary, 6934 South Western Ave. Oklahoma City.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and honor his life will be 10 AM, Monday, October 25, 2021, at St. James The Greater Catholic Church, 4201 S. McKinley Ave. Oklahoma City, officiated by Reverend Bill H. Pruett and Reverend Deacon Marti Guilkers.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, in Oklahoma City. Friends may leave condolences for the family at vondelsmithmortuary.com
Wayne Charles Goodgion, 75, was born July 17, 1946 in Hays, Kansas to Alton and Bessie (Sally) Goodgion and passed away, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. When he was sixteen years old he joined the United States Navy where he served two tours in Vietnam, while getting his GED. On December 29, 1969, he married the love of his life, Linda Sue Romine. He worked for and retired from the Oklahoma City Fire Department, as a Fire Marshal and Inspector, for 26 years. In his spare time he liked to build hot rods and houses. Wayne was a member of St. James The Greater Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his, parents; his son, David Goodgion and three brothers, Roger, Jerry, and Bruce. Wayne is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda S. Goodgion; sons, Mark Budd and wife, Sylvia, and Duane Goodgion; his sisters, Linda Goodgion and Vicki Smith and husband Chris; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hudson; great grandchildren, Hunter Moody and Madelyn Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.
