Wendell Flynt went to be with the Lord on May 22nd. He was born on March 12th, 1973. Wendell graduated from Bethel High school in Hampton, Virginia in 1991. He then moved with his family to Oklahoma City where he graduated from OU, earning a degree in marketing. Wendell, lovingly known as "chips", found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments, especially a sunset from his porch, riding through the neighborhood on his motorcycle. He also loved OU football and the Washington Redskins and Thunder basketball. He held a deep affection for his beloved pet Max and Layla who he took on outings on the boat or anywhere he went. Wendell also created spaces for connection and shard memories. One example was his chalk wall, where friends and family were invited to leave messages. Wendell had an adventurous spirit and he loved to travel in Southeast Asia and South America and explore diverse cultures and different ways of life. Folks that new him were drawn to his genuine charm and his endless curiosity. He loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his niece, Faith. He worked diligently on his properties with the intention that they would one day support and provide for her future. Wendell is survived by his mother Gayliss Flynt, his sister Gwen Johnson and her husband Warren and his niece Faith Johnson.
