Wesley Neal Shumard
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our son, Wesley Neal Shumard, who departed this world on September 26, 2026. Born on April 5, 1986, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Wesley's sudden departure has left his family and friends in deep sorrow and disbelief.
Wesley was the cherished son of Randy and LeeAnn Shumard. He is remembered fondly by his beloved Mimi, Rita Huff, and his devoted sister, Chelsea Shumard-Jeansonne, along with her husband, Jeremiah. Wesley was a proud and loving uncle to his niece, Addison Jeansonne, and his nephews, Hudson and Sutton Jeansonne. He is also survived by his dear aunt, Karen Melton, uncle, Jerome Shumard, and his cousins. His so cherished dog, Rosita stayed with him until she couldn't.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Pete Huff, Gordon Shumard, and Ruth Shumard, who now embrace him once more.
Wesley's journey through life was marked by notable achievements and a passion for learning. He graduated from Westmoore High School in 2004, continued his education at Oklahoma City Community College in 2007, and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2019.
His dedication to his country was evident through his service in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served as a flight engineer from 2009 to 2020. He served multiple deployments in the Middle East and S. Korea and travelled everywhere. He loved the Air Force.
At the time of his passing, Wesley was employed with A3 Technology, Inc. as an Enterprise Configuration Manager. His manager, along with his colleagues, mourns the loss of his remarkable talents and deep knowledge that enriched their organization.
Beyond his professional life, Wesley(aka) "Badger" was an avid gamer, a passion that brought him immense joy and connected him to a community that became like family to him. His online gaming group has been a source of great support to his family, reflecting the profound impact Wesley had on those who knew him.
Wesley will be remembered for his quick wit and playful nature, traits that brought laughter and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His mischievous spirit and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice or any Veteran's organization in Wesley's memory, honoring his generous spirit and desire to help those in need. As we say goodbye to Wesley, we hold onto the memories of a life well-lived and a person well-loved. His impact on the lives he touched will forever be cherished and celebrated.
