Willa "Dean" Layton

May 3, 1929 ~ May 20, 2025

In loving memory of Willa Dean Layton, fondly known as "Dean" by her family and friends, went to join her husband, Bob and many family members in Heaven on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the age of 96. The eldest of two daughters born to Carmen and Ethel Robinson, Dean was born on May 3, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School in 1947, she married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Earl Layton and the two were blessed with two daughters, Linda and Vickie. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Dean also worked for Oklahoma Furniture and Howard Brothers Florist for many years. She was an excellent homemaker who was known for keeping her house immaculately clean and organized. Dean truly had a heart and deep love for the Lord. She knew her Bible very well and was very strong and unwavering in her faith and beliefs, always ensuring that her family attended church together. She and her family were longtime members of Southwest Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving the Lord, worshiping and fellowshipping with others until her health no longer permitted her to attend. Dean was blessed to have the ability to live a long, full and abundant life, even living independently in her home until the day of her passing. Dean's memory will be forever remembered and tenderly honored by those who loved and cherished her most and grateful for the legacy she instilled in others and left behind. She was a true exemplary model of a Proverbs 31 woman.

Dean was preceded in death by her:

Parents;

Husband of 64 years, Robert "Bob" Earl Layton on December 27, 2011;

Brother-in-law, Frank Lemons;

Son-in-law, Robert Gulikers.

Dean leaves behind her loving family:

Daughter, Linda Long and her husband, Jeff Long;

Daughter, Vickie Gulikers;

Sister, Gayle Lemons;

Four Grandsons:

Great Grandsons:

Niece, Kristie Christian;

Many other extended family & friends.

Dean's memory will be forever remembered, honored and tenderly laid to rest beside her husband, Bob Layton in a private family ceremony.
