Services will be 2pm Friday, June 19, 2015 at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S. Western Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK with burial to follow in the Washington Cemetery, Washington, OK.

Wilson Eugene Gann, lovingly known as Gene by his family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the age of 92. The son of Walter Marion and Effie (Birdsong) Gann, Gene was born May 27, 1923 in Dallas, Texas. Gene honorably and courageously served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart Medal recipient. On September 18, 1959, Gene married his longtime sweetheart, Mary Jo Rains and together shared more than 56 years and raised a family. He provided a warm and loving home for his family by working as a skilled journeyman carpenter for many years. A longtime member of Southwest Baptist Church, Gene was a true man of God. He had a servant's heart and a great compassion for fellow man. His Sunday School class, called "The Real People", was a special blessing to him. He loved to fish and had some great fish stories to tell. He was preceded in death by his: Parents; 3 Sisters, Irene O'Donley, Jaree Padgham, and Doris Dalbey; 2 Brothers, Delbert Gann and William Marion Gann and 1 Nephew, David Gann He is survived by and will be remembered as a true gentleman by his: Wife, Mary Jo of the home; Daughter, Joyce Morgan and her husband, Glen; 2 Grandchildren, Donna Wilson and Richard Morgan; 3 Nieces, Nancy Wagoner and husband Jim, Beverly Smith and husband Ron and Pat Gann; 1 Nephew, Gilbert Gann and wife Judy. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the many precious workers at the Veterans Hospital of OKC, the Norman Veterans Center in Norman and Good Shepard Hospice.
