Zella Faye Kerlick passed peacefully at home, Thursday, June 4. 2026 with family members and friends by her side.
She was born on January 14, 1935 in Albert. OK to Clifford and Della Lewis. Zella had four brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Binger High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart and moved to Oklahoma City in 1954.
Zella had many hobbies: sewing, cooking, reading, traveling, playing bridge and rooting for the OKC Thunder. She often recorded the late Thunder games and watched them the following day. Her sweet pickles made with Paw Paw Winnie's homegrown cucumbers were the best. Her hand sewn Christmas stockings and the clothes made for the grandkids were truly special. She insisted on hosting every holiday gathering and all of the family birthday parties. Her favorite hobby was spoiling babies. She loved babies...and she loved to spoil the grand babies and great grand babies.
Her zest for babies led to some of the ministries she was involved in at Southwest Church of Christ, managing the nursery, teaching VBS and Sunday morning Bible classes for many years. She loved her brothers and sisters at Southwest Church of Christ where she was an active member for more than 60 vears.
Her unconditional devotion and commitment were to her family who will miss her very much.
Preceding Zella in death are her parents, and her husband of 64 years Winfred Kerlick, brothers Clifton Lewis, Ivan Lewis, Charles Lewis and sisters Emily Domstead, Verla Cain, and Janice Hall.
Zella is survived by her daughter Tanva Brown and her husband Wes, daughter Robin Kerlick, son Michael Kerlick and his wife Debbie and son Mitch Kerlick, her six grandchildren, Brent Wood and his wife Shana, Meghan Lewis and her partner Jason, Josh Kerlick and his wife Jen, Brittany Houck and her husband Shawn, Kvlie Coley and her husband Doug, Jenna Werner and her husband Sean as well as fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jeanie Kluver and her husband Ray, brother Jerry Lewis and his wife Linda and Charles' wife Ann Lewis (aka Wonder Woman) as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Zella very much appreciated the care and attention extended to her by the Meadowlake family and Bristol Hospice. We were blessed to have Zella/Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma/Sister/Aunt/Friend for 91 years.
