Zora Mae Whitener, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 23rd, with her husband by her side and her final days spent surrounded by family and friends. Zora was born November 29,1936 in Wayne, Oklahoma. She had one son, Mark Fielder (Jana Fielder), and married the love of her life, Wayne Whitener, in 1982. Wayne has 3 sons: Kirk (Min Whitener), Keith (Jena Whitener) and David Whitener. She has 5 grandchildren: Alicia Cosby, Evan Fielder, Shea Driver, Ashland Ashcraft, and Michael Whitener; and she has 2 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Wyatt Cosby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother, Bonnie Mae Leveridge Frye; her father, Arlys Leveridge; and her brother, Richard "Butch" Leveridge. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her sisters, Annette Black and Beverly Burke; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Zora cared deeply for her family and friends, living a life full of love. An adept fisher, Zora's favorite fish to catch was crappie, which she would clean and fry for family gatherings. She loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. A friend to everyone she met and the brightest light in the room, we will be dressing colorfully to celebrate Zoe's love for life and infectious spirit.
