Obituary for Karrie Lynn Andres (Andres)

Karrie Lynn Andres (Andres)
Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel honoring the life of Karrie Lynn Andres, age 49, who passed away on January 14, 2012.
Karrie was born on September 19, 1962 in Tucson, Arizona. She traveled extensively with her family during her father’s service with the Air Force. Karrie was very proud of her country. When visitors would enter her home, they wouldn’t know whether to salute or start singing the Star Spangled Banner because of all the flags flying in her home. She was a very avid sports fan, with NASCAR and OU football on top of the list (well, maybe not so much OU football last season). When the Star Spangled Banner began to play prior to the game or race she would stand, put her hand over her heart and sing along, and at the end she would shed a little tear of joy. She loved cooking, working in the yard nurturing her little evergreen trees, and getting dirt under her fingernails. She spoke fondly of snow skiing, a true love of hers in which she longed for. She once put her skis on and was pulled around the block by a car. She started working for Southwest Airlines as a Reservation Agent on Feb. 8, 1993 in Albuquerque, NM, then transferred to the OKC Center in the fall of 1995. Her job, co-workers, and friends were very near to her. On the job, she deeply enjoyed assisting the elderly with their travel accommodations, no matter how long it took. She was a true child at heart, and a giving, loving person. With a heart of gold, she asked for nothing in return. She will be truly missed.
The streets of gold are glistening brighter, and the red, white and blue flags are waving as Karrie enters the gates of Heaven. Her parents were there to greet her, as well as her good friend Mae; “Annie Ann”, her beloved dog; along with other loved one’s.
She loved everyone around her, and would do anything for you. She was always happy, even when she was sick. Despite all her struggles, Karrie achieved many of her goals; buying her home, and traveling to places she wanted to go. She never realized how many people truly loved her. We Love You Karrie.
Karrie was preceded in death by both of her parents, Robert and Judy Andres. She is survived by her companion, Ron Enslinger; brother, Randy Andres and wife Lily Ann Hume; nephew, Robert Andres and wife Lisa; and her niece, Rebecca Theriot and husband Thomas.
The Andres family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, OK and Karrie’s numerous friends that were by her side during the last days.
