Juanita Mae Queen was born on April 25, 1926 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the age of 88. Juanita lived in Oklahoma City most of her life and had been living at Southwest Mansions in South Oklahoma City for the past four years. She worked as a telephone operator for many years but mostly she was a mother and grandmother. She had several nicknames but the one given to her by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was simply the “Queen”.
She was preceded in death by her:
Parents, Floyd Reed Jenkins, Sr. and Jo Bob Corley Shaw;
Brother, Floyd Reed Jr.;
Sister, LaNelle Tidwell and her husband George “Snooks” Queen;
Great grandson, Jacob Phillips.
Juanita is survived by her:
Brother, Bill Jenkins;
Sisters: Helen Murphy, Polly Marshall and Bonnie McKenzie;
Daughters: Georgia Mansell and husband Robert, Helen Schott and husband George all of Oklahoma City;
Son, Richard Kerr and wife Vicki of Morris, Oklahoma;
8 Grandchildren;
23 Great-grandchildren;
1 Great-Great Grandchild.
