Obituary for Loretha Whitson

Loretha Whitson
Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes

Funeral Service: 10AM Saturday Dec. 5, 2015
Location: South Lakes Chapel (at the funeral home)

Loretha was born in Walls, Oklahoma, to Sam W. and Susie Daniels Fout. She was raised in Poteau, OK, along with her 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Loretha and her siblings were educated in a one room schoolhouse and made many fond memories during those years. In 1942 Loretha married her true love, Roy Whitson, and raised their family in Okla. City. Roy's death in 1960 was a heartbreak she never recovered from.

Loretha worked for AT&T in OKC for 26 years and retired in 1986. After retiring she started a second career in real estate. Always a fierce protector of her family, she enjoyed many things but what she loved most was time spent with family. Loretha was a faithful member at Crossroads Church for many years. In 2010 she moved to Coppell, TX, to be near her daughter and son.

She lived a full and very active life, still maintaining her own home, driving and handling her affairs until suffering a stroke Nov. 27, 2015. Loretha was a loving, generous person despite the hardships she worked to overcome in her life. Her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
