Robert Julius Adams, known by all as “RJ”, met his Lord and Savior at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was 91 years old. RJ was born to Charley and Mary Elizabeth (Gowing) Adams on February 21, 1924 in Altus, Arkansas. In 1986, RJ retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier for many years. RJ and Mary Lou Garner were married on May 18, 1941. From this union, two sons were born, Jim and Larry.
RJ was preceded in death by his:
• Parents, Charley and Mary Adams
• Wife, Mary Lou Adams
• One brother
He is survived by his loving:
• Sons, Jim Adams and his wife, Cathy and Larry Adams
• Four grandsons and their families: Randy and Laura Adams, Michael and Gary Adams, Tony Adams and his wife, Jessica, and Andy Adams and his wife, Kristi
• The light of his life, his seven beautiful great granddaughters: Sarah, Summer, Brianne, Hannah, Kaylee, Lauren, and Ashley
The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Hill Nursing Center and Mission Hospice for their compassionate and very loving care of RJ during the last three months. We would especially like to thank Joy and Deborah for spoiling him!!!
